Marine Atlantic has started a special student employment program for vessel entry level positions. The program is aimed at University and Community College Students for work between 1 July and August 30 each year while they are enrolled in a recognized institution.

Marine Atlantic provides year-round a daily ferry service between Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador and North Sydney, Nova Scotia and a seasonal tri-weekly ferry service between Argentia, Newfoundland and Labrador and North Sydney, Nova Scotia, from mid-June until late September.

Citizenship:

Canadian Citizenship or legally permitted to work in Canada.

Language proficiency:

English spoken and written

Education:

Grade 12 High School or GED

Experience:

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for, genuinely customer focused candidates that have an interest in hospitality. You must be seventeen (17) years old, have completed high school, be either a Canadian citizen or legally permitted to work in Canada, and be impeccably groomed with professional oral and interpersonal skills that easily gets along with others and be registered to a university or community college.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
You may bring with you some assets that are valuable to this position;
- Bilingual in French and English
- a background in food service, hospitality, hotels, bartending, cruise ship, seafaring stewarding, retail outlets, tourism, or customer service.
