Marine Atlantic provides year-round a daily ferry service between Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador and North Sydney, Nova Scotia and a seasonal tri-weekly ferry service between Argentia, Newfoundland and Labrador and North Sydney, Nova Scotia, from mid-June until late September.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
You must be seventeen (17) years old, hold Journeyman Certification in Cooking (Interprovincial Red Seal), be either a Canadian citizen or legally permitted to work in Canada, and be impeccably groomed with professional oral and interpersonal skills, and one that easily gets along with others and is truly focused on serving customers. 

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
You may bring with you some assets that are valuable to this position;

  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Marine Emergency Duties training and experience working on vessels.

Acceptance on the eligibility list for the position will be conditional pending successful completion of a Transport Canada mandated Marine medical examination and a Marine Emergency Duties courses and Marine Advanced First Aid at the candidate’s expense.  Financing options will be discussed with successful applicants. Candidates will not be employed prior to the completion of the above requirements and an offer of employment being made by the company.
