This senior level financial position will report directly to the Vice President of Finance and will work closely with the Finance and Planning Managers of the organization, liaise with Strategic management and Executive management. The Senior Financial Analyst will undertake the more complex and critical economic/financial research, exercising considerable latitude in approach and analysis that will include analysis of data to support the organizations Corporate Plan. This position will manage the implementation project for the Corporation’s conversion from its current Canadian GAAP basis of accounting to Public Sector Accounting Standards with the support of the Vice President of Finance, the Finance Department, and external experts within the required timelines of the project.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The incumbent will have an accounting degree, a designation in accounting (CA, CGA, or CMA) together with a thorough knowledge of accounting and finance issues, financial reporting and accounting standards. The position requires excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of different financial and analytical techniques and the capability to plan own work and respect deadlines. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills are required. The candidate will be detail oriented, well organized and demonstrate their ability to function effectively with a high degree of interdependence and autonomy. In addition they will demonstrate strong writing and communications skills.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Public Sector Accounting Standards would be a highly desirable asset for this position.
